Biography

Jorian M. Heal is an attorney whose practice includes the energy, water, transportation and telecommunications industries, and related business and environmental issues, as well as commercial transactions, creditor’s rights, bankruptcy and insolvency. Jorian has extensive experience in negotiating and drafting agreements related to the telecommunications industry, including joint build and indefeasible right of use agreements.

During law school, Jorian was an associate at The Startup Legal Garage, a program of the Center for Innovation at the UC College of the Law, San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings), where she was paired with Bay Area firms and early-stage startups. Jorian worked with several startup entities on various business law and privacy issues. Additionally, she was a law student representative at the Individual Representation Clinic, where she handled all stages of representation for both a Social Security Disability Case and a Clean Slate Case. Jorian also served as an extern for the Honorable Theodore Zayner at the Superior Court of California, Santa Clara County.

Before law school, Jorian attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign as a James Scholar. In her undergraduate years, she founded Project Hart, a nonprofit that collected and donated e-readers to children in need around the world.

Jorian currently serves as Young Utility Lawyer (YUL) Co-Chair for the Conference of California Public Utility Counsel (CCPUC) Board.  Jorian is a member of the State Bar of California.
